Sultan Suleiman was the tenth and longest-reigning Sultan of Ottoman Empire. He lived between 1494 and 1566. During his reign, the Empire achieved its peak in territorial, economic and cultural aspects. He is known as the most vengeful Sultan who would even kill his own son for justice. The most famous thing about him is his relationship with Hürrem Sultan, also known as Roxelana. She was a member of his harem, but he decided to marry her, which was unusual for a Sultan. Over time, she increased her authority in the palace gradually and became an important figure in Ottoman history.

His tomb is in Suleiman the Magnificent Mausoleum behind the Süleymaniye Mosque in Fatih. Ayasofya Hürrem Sultan Hamam is one of the most luxurious hamams in Istanbul, originally constructed by Sinan the Architect and commissioned by Sultan Suleiman for Hürrem Sultan.
