One of the most romantic things to do in Istanbul is definitely being on the water. A good idea is being on a boat before the sunset and experience all the changes in the sky and watch the bridges and mosques as they light up. A glass of champagne would complete the moment really nicely.

Another one is taking the ferry to the Prince Islands and spending the day walking around, eating yummy ice cream, biking and hopping on one of the horse carriages that give you an hour tour around the island. You can sit back and watch the beautiful 19th century art nouveau villas and the greenery. For sunset, climb up to the Aya Yorgi hill and feel as if the day is ending in the Aegean sea as you sip your house wine towards the Sea of Marmara.

If you do not have the time to go all the way to the island, you can also take the ferry to Moda, locate yourself in a nice little table on top of the hill at Moda Çay Evi and watch the sun change colors as it moves towards the sea.

1-Prince Islands (Adalar in Tr.)

You can take a trip with your partner to one of the 4 biggest islands for a romantic day. Although most people choose Buyukada (Big Island), you can choose one of the other alternatives for more tranquility. As there is no traffic on the islands, you can enjoy the peace and get on the horse-drawn phaeton carriages to try out some historical moments.

There are many fish restaurants where you can taste delicious food while drinking your raki. Some churches are also present on the islands.

P.S. You will take a ferry ride for the islands, which lasts for around 40 minutes. It is also a good opportunity to watch the sea in your lover’s arms.
