Does Istanbul recycle?

Nope, not exactly. There aren't really any active recycling programs here- people tend to put everything in the trashcan. Still there's a lot of informal work that gets done. On the front end, people are huge re-users here- just look down any street and see how many re-purposed yogurt containers there are! 

     There are also a lot of people who go through the trash for bottles, cans, and other goods. In leau of a better solution, I put my trash in a seperate bag than my recyclables for easier access. It's not ideal, but it's realistic.
